Mentorship

>

At HOPE585, we believe in the power of community, relationships, and support. As a volunteer in our Youth Mentorship program, you'll have the opportunity to provide invaluable relationships, guidance, and support to youth as they navigate life. Whether it's offering a listening ear, sharing your wisdom, or simply being a friend, your presence can make all the difference.

Why become a mentor?

Teens impacted by systemic challenges need caring adults in their lives in order to thrive as successful adults. Becoming a mentor to a system-impacted teen is a meaningful way you can help that has clear expectations and a huge impact.

Think of all the times growing up that a relative, coach, or teacher gave you advice, lent a hand, or made your dreams seem possible. Every adolescent needs those trusted adult relationships. For a system-impacted teen, that could be you.

You might not feel prepared to help a young person who has experienced so much. Our trauma-informed, data-driven curriculum will give you the skills you need to change a life.

HOPE Rising Programing

>

System-impacted youth need supportive adults who show up with consistency, compassion, and belief in their potential. Volunteering with our HOPE Rising programming is a meaningful way to make that kind of impact—all year long.

HOPE Rising is a dynamic workshop-based program where youth engage with our specialized curriculum, learning how to set goals and apply the science of hope to overcome obstacles and shape their futures. Each session also includes hands-on activities that teach practical life skills—building their toolbox for independence and long-term sustainability as they prepare for adulthood.

These moments of connection, encouragement, and growth wouldn't be possible without caring volunteers like you. When you show up, you help create the kind of environment where youth feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Event Support:

Assist during community events, tabling, programing, and youth gatherings/events. This is a great way to get involved if you’re looking for more flexible or short-term volunteer options.

Administrative & Outreach Support:

Help with behind-the-scenes work like outreach, communications, or materials preparation to keep our programs running smoothly.

CarePortal:

Getting involved with CarePortal is as simple as saying “yes” to receiving an email. CarePortal is a digital platform that connects community members and organizations with real-time needs submitted by social workers and other frontline professionals. When a need is entered into the system, an email notification is sent to everyone on the network — including individuals, churches, and organizations — giving them the opportunity to respond. If you're able to help, you can reply directly to the request and partner with a local collaborator to deliver the resource to the family in need. It’s a simple, impactful way to make a difference.

Vision Tour Ambassador:

A Vision Tour Ambassador is someone who helps spread the mission of HOPE585 by rallying a group of friends, family, coworkers, or like-minded individuals to attend a monthly Vision Tour—or by hosting a tour at a location of their choice. Ambassadors play a key role in helping others learn about our work, engage with our mission, and explore ways to get involved.

Internships:

Our internship opportunities allow students to hone in on critical industry skills while gaining hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector. Interns typically receive school credit and are placed in roles that align with their area of study or career interests. This is a great way to grow professionally while contributing to the mission of HOPE585.
